Veterinarians

  • Dr. Lisa Dawson
    Owner/Veterinarian

    Dr. Dawson received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska and her D.V.M degree from the University of Minnesota in 1988. She has devoted her career to small animals and has a special interest in surgery, where her love for animals and her excellent hand dexterity is on full display! Dr. Dawson is one of three original practice owners of LVAH, and a driving force for the success of our practice. She enjoys the friendships she has made with her clients over the years.

  • Dr. Jessica Blake
    Owner/Veterinarian

    Dr. Blake is a Lander native and returned to the area after graduating cum laude from Colorado State University in 2008. As a mixed animal veterinarian, she enjoys the variety a practice like LVAH holds, and has a passion for cattle work. Other professional interests include small animal ultrasound as an advanced and interventional imaging tool used to evaluate and sample internal organs.

  • Dr. Morgan Kennedy
    Owner/Veterinarian

    Dr. Kennedy received her D.V.M degree in 2010 from Colorado State University. She is from Lander and began her veterinary path working right here at LVAH as a high schooler! After graduating college, she worked at a practice in Montana for two years before returning to Lander in 2012. She enjoys working on small and large animals, and she has a special interest in small animal dentistry, internal medicine and wound management.

    Owner/Veterinarian

    Dr. Toye received her D.V.M. degree from Washington State University in 2010. Raised in Dubois Wyoming, she returned to Fremont County to practice veterinary medicine in the area she grew up in and loves.

    Veterinary Technician

    Ben is one of our skilled veterinary technicians and has been a member of LVAH since 2012. He fulfills many roles, such as wrangling wiggly patients, assisting with large animal patients or simply being a fix-it man. We are grateful to have his skills!

    Veterinary Technician

    Chantal joined LVAH in 2013 and is one of our hard working veterinary technicians, although you might see her working the front desk when needed. Her good attitude and willingness to help are just a few qualities we like about her! She and her husband, Dan, have just welcomed a beautiful baby girl to their family, Maia.

  • Hannah Dunnohew
    Veterinary Technician

    Hannah was born in Placerville California but grew up in Green River Wyoming.  Her career in veterinary medicine started in 2014 at a small animal practice in Fort Collins Colorado, where she  also attended Front Range Community College, known well for it’s veterinary technology program.  During this busy time of school and work, she married her childhood sweetheart, Brian, in 2015.

  • Tara Stueckler
    Technician Assistant

    Tara began working at LVAH in the summer of 2016 and is a technician assistant.  Her self-motivated attitude and willingness to help in any way are some of the things we really like about her!  She is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada but has lived in many places in Nevada as well as Missouri, California & Utah.  Her husband is Hannes and they have three sons, Justin, Erick & Hank.  She also has many animals including two dogs – Grizz & Bear, ferrets Smokey & Bandit and cats Spot, Wallace RJ & Wraith.  Her passion is her dairy goats that she raises.  She also likes to garden, hike and explore nature and cloth and string arts.  Her favorite thing about working at LVAH is being around the animals, to comfort and help a pet in need. She likes to learn about veterinary medicine and enjoys getting to know her co-workers.  

Receptionists

  • Julie Rohrbacher
    Receptionist

    Julie was born in Hot Springs South Dakota and raised here in Lander. Although she has moved away twice to Utah, she always found a way back to Lander, it’s home!  She married Brett Rohrbacher in 1989 and have three adult sons; Seth, Caleb and Noah.  Ask her what her boys are up to and you will see a special light in her eyes…kids grow up but moms are moms forever!  After 16 years working in the human medical field, Julie she got a chance to join us and combine her skills in the office with her love for animals.

    Caroline is a talented animal groomer and has been part of our team for many years. She has been in the Lander area for over 30 years but lived many places before such as Hawaii, Arkansas, Oklahoma, France, Germany and Virginia! She has five children and four grandkids that keep her busy!

    Kennel Staff

    Ksandra has been one of our very dedicated kennel staff since 2007. She is from Kinnear and makes the long drive to care for the boarding animals at LVAH. She loves caring for the boarding animals and seeing new and interesting breeds.

  • Micaiah Dolence
    Kennel Staff

    Micaiah was born in Shiprock New Mexico, has lived in Durango Colorado, and in Lander for the past six years. Mom Stephanie and dad Larron have raised a smart, hard working and all around lovely daughter,  we are thankful to have her as part of the team at LVAH!  Micaiah’s experience and skills handling animals comes from life at home as her and two brothers Benaiah and Hezekiah care for three dogs, three cats, two parakeets, goats, chickens and ducks.  She participates in 4H showing dogs, poultry and goats as well as Junior Olympic Shooting matches.
